Five Hearts from The Romance Studio - "This book was an excellent read that progressed with such fluency that I could not put it down for a second. The plot was dynamic and drew me in as a reader because of its intensity and its attention to detail when it came to the investigation… Ms. Patrick has penned a superb tale in this one with two strong characters that have to face their pasts -- as both of them have lost loved ones -- if they're to have any hope at a future together. Well done to this author, of which I can't wait to read the first installment of this series and the ones to come in the future." Reviewed by Bec
Sherry Kuhn @ Love2ReadNovels: "Be assured when you pick up an Anne Patrick book that you will find in its pages, a strong and capable heroine, a tough yet tender hero, lots wonderful secondary characters (including a dog), a solid message of faith, lots of zippy dialog and it's all wrapped up in an edge-of-your-seat suspense. Trespasses is no exception. From beginning to end, you will find yourself totally engaged in the story and immersed in the lives of these real-life characters. I have to say, that though it's a tough subject, I found forensic artistry to be completely fascinating. How they can take pieces of information and create from it a picture of a person is amazing. Every skull really does tell a story! I loved Mackayla and Gabe, who were both very relateable people. I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction between the two of them. Mackayla had a steadfast faith that felt so natural, it made me want to be more like her. I really admired her forgiving attitude and wondered if I, in her situation, could have done the same. You can truly understand why Gabe was so drawn to her. Trespasses is book 2 in the Wounded Heroes series and one I highly recommend. This could easily be read as a stand alone but you will not want to miss Kill Shot, which is book 1 in the series. Great job, Anne! Looking forward to the next installment, due out February 2013"
Brenda at GoodReads: "I don't read a lot of Christian romance, but Anne Patrick is an author that always delivers everything I like in a good read, so I look forward to her stories. At least one of her characters always have a deep faith that guides them through tough times. Mackayla is a forensic sketch artist who's seen tragedy in her life, and now works to find missing children through her sketches because of what happened to her. Gabe is a Special Agent with his own tragic story, and he is fascinated by Mackayla's strength and her ability to bring life to her sketches. They work on a case together, and find themselves drawn to each other. Trespasses is a compelling, smart read with a sweet, romance that has us hoping it will work out in the end. I truly enjoyed the suspense, and the interaction between Mackayla and Gabe."
Christine at GoodReads: "This is book two of the Wounded Heroes series. Mackayla is a forensic sketch artist whos sketches have led to the return of over thirty missing children across the country in the last six years. She returns from El Salvador to help a case close to her home in Washington. With the help of Special Agent Gabe Landry they bring closure to a few cases. I enjoyed this story a lot for a few reasons. Good story line, characters are warm, the community support is strong and the connection between Mackayla and Gabe is honest and hopeful. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series."
Readers Favorite: This is the second book of Ms. Patrick's 'Wounded Heroes series'. Both of the main characters have dealt with pain and sadness in their lives. Each has dealt with it in a different way though. Mackayla was drawn closer to God, but Gabe drifted away. Through the book Gabe begins to realize his need for a comforting and loving God. I enjoyed the Biblical reference of the three Hebrew young men who were thrown in the fire. It helped Gabe when Mackayla explained that God was with the three men and He was with her during her time of sorrow. It was nice to see Sean and Kory from "Kill Shot" making an appearance in this one. There were no lapses in the story and it flows seamlessly from beginning to end. I for one will be looking forward to the next book in the series. Ms. Patrick is a Christian fiction author definitely worth reading. ~ Reviewed by Ellen H.
